Going back several years, the only question I was asked repeatedly was, should I get a laptop instead of a desktop computer? Although there is no definitive answer as each person's needs are different, the answer has probably changed from 80% NO 80% YES. The reason for this is the narrow gap between desktop and notebook computers in terms of performance, reliability and storage capacity.
Now we have a clash between teams netbook and the laptop as people explore the possibility of going even more portable. Let's see how the main considerations in the front Netbook Laptop debate.
Size
Netbooks are in effect mini notebook and get a size advantage when it comes to portability. They tend to be lighter due to this, so if you intend to use one to travel with them, are ideal. Laptops, by contrast, are substantial in weight and size compared.
Screen and keyboard
Because of their smaller size, netbooks tend to have smaller keyboards and displays. This varies from model to model. Laptops for most, are standard-size keys with standard-size displays desktop monitor. If you have large hands and do a lot of typing, netbooks can be annoying very quickly. Also, if you need to have a lot on screen at once, the laptops have the advantage with its greater resolution and screen size.
Performance
The laptops are almost the new desktop, with processor speeds increase as manufacturers to find new ways to squeeze extra performance from smaller components. Without getting too technical, laptops have a huge advantage performance in the game. I would go so far as to say that if you want to use a computer for processor-intensive tasks, a notebook is currently not a good option.
Connectivity
Most netbooks tend to have a pair of USB ports and wireless networking. They tend to have CD / DVD. These days portable DVD re-writers and usually 3 or 4 USB ports and VGA output for display on an external monitor. To view your DVD collection in its new a laptop computer has the advantage.
Cost
The cost of a netbook is on the functionality and usability as is that of a laptop. I would say today, a laptop has more room to grow with user needs and therefore offers better value. If cost is the overriding factor the choice between the two, I would go for a cheap laptop in a netbook. If you want to surf the net and keep up with friends in Facebook is a netbook a very good choice.
Storage
Netbooks tend to have less storage capacity for laptops, although this has improved with the time and probably will continue. If you want to store a large amount of videos and photos without using external storage, a new laptop is advantage.
Battery
With its small size, lack of low power processors DVD and power (in general) make netbooks hands on the stakes the efficiency of energy consumption.
The end result is, you really have to be honest with you as to how we will use the computer. I would say the only real reason to have a netbook over a laptop are portability and battery life. If you make a list of the above points in the election to be a good idea of what to compare when buying.
