Considering a Mac, but it is the price worth it?
I work for a newspaper and we use Mac computers in the office and I must say that like them, and seeing my old laptop is 8 years old now, I thought I may be in need of a new and considered a Mac. But God, I was looking to sell Macs and they are all like $ 999 at the lowest, and $ 1,500 for a good Mac Book. That's insane! I could buy two laptops PC for that price. I see PC at Best Buy for $ 500. Mac is really worth spending the two computers? It's like half of a used car … If I spend $ 1000 on something, it better be damn worth it. Can anyone tell me if the price justifies what you get?
This is not really justified, because it is more or less the same hardware as you can get a PC and in reality, you can get better equipment in a PC for less than a Mac, so … Anyway, I guess in your line of work you use products like Adobe InDesign. I have the CS3 Master Suite on my PC and it works very well, so you do not need a Mac to use the same software if you want to do some work home. Now, if they want you to work from home and are willing to offset the cost difference, so go ahead … I really have no cons Macs with the exception of price and snobbish, stupid, misleading advertising. _
