Comments on TV lines – power problem?

My two TVs that have digital cable boxes, an HD, an HD DVR (cable) and recently there have been purple and green color bars that line the screen. While testing the house while no harm to the earth I found that unplugging my UPC that the powers of my computers (Mac Pro and G5) has set the bar. Moved UPC for another outlet and it seemed to solve the problem. Then a few days later the bars are back. Is this faulty wiring in my house? Or is there something I can do to solve this problem? I tested all the outlets and the field seems to be wired correctly. Too – I live in this apt for over a year now and this is the first occurrence of something like that. Ideas?

USB Hard Drive desktop drive to ATA?

I have a 40 GB Fujitsu 2.5 "portable disk, MHT2040AT model. I want to connect this unit to my desktop computer. I have to buy an adapter to plug right into my computer, but for some reason, the system BIOS Setuprecognizes as "Unknown Disk" I can not do anything with it. How can I make the drive usable? — I have two other hard drives, SATA (main windows of the unit) and IDB (backup). I want to install this drive to put Windows Vista on it. My Drive Configuration: SATA primary: Primary Master IDE Hard Drive: CD-ROM IDE primary slave: CD-ROM Secondary Master: Secondary slave hard disk **: unknown Unit ** —- How do I make it show as a hard drive? — I also bought an adapter ATA 2.5 " 3.5 "

USB bus itself is not reliable for use as a duct boot's fine with me as we speak, you should get a simple IDE ATAPI (the name of laptop sized IDE) adapter and make the drive on a laptop computer desktop. This adapter could be included with the IDE adapter USB full size. Fact that the purchase of 2.5 "redundant box.

Can anyone help me decide what I should get Mac? I know nothing about Macs!?

I go to college for computer technology and I wanted to buy a Mac at low price so I can get used to them in case I ever need to use. I did some research but I am having trouble understanding what to buy. I thought to get a cheap old ibook Clamshell. Does anyone know if this laptop would be similar to the introduction of new Macs? In other words will help me using a Clamshell to get the feel of how to use a newer Mac? Help Please. Thank you

Be patient, it is OK to use iBook Clamshell for practice, the configuration is the same, or similar or indifferent. The OS may be different, but only in the details and features. Apple will flourish economy versions of MacBook and iMac in late June, rumored reliable. (see www.appleinsider.com/articles/09/04/30/apple_to_introduce_more_affordable_macs_sources_say.html) Is this "$ 900 MacBook sound about right?

No sound from speakers to computer?

I'm using the training camp with my book Mac to run Windows Vista. My speakers work fine when I boot up the Mac OS, but when I start Vista, they do not work at all. Ideas?

Make sure your audio driver is not disabled, it's May, inadvertently disabled itself during shutdown: Go to Device Manager (Start> RightClick My Computer> Properties> Hardware tab> Device Manager) and right click on your sound driver and choose Enable. If not, update the driver, which will result in restoring the factory settings if there is an update available. If you do not know the name of your sound driver, so to Start> Run> dxdiag. Now go to the tab and all his sound equipment installed is listed. If this does not work, the driver may have been uninstalled. If yes, go to your computer manufacturer's website and go to "Support" section. Over there must be a link for drivers. You'll need to know the model of your computer, but once you enter it you give the option to download any missing drivers. Just find the Sound Driver and install it. Hope that helps =]
