I want to record music played on piano on my electric piano to my MacBook Pro help?
I have a Yamaha Clavinova CLP-930 Piano electric and MIDI-USB cable to transfer UX16 music. I can use to GarageBand '09 music. I did all the instructions say, and click Save to your computer, notes played on the piano, and showed no marks on the runway. I used the "software" of a new track. Am I missing something?
Have you installed the drivers for the UX16 and restart the computer after installation? I never used the CLP-930, but perhaps a change in it that reads, "Mac" and "PC"? I know my Yamaha P-90 has a style on the side with MIDI ports. Once the drivers are installed, go to your preferences panel and check GarageBand to see if your MIDI interface has been detected once it is connected and powered. Many times when things do not work for me, often to do with preferences, or I forgot Arming the track for recording. Hopefully it was something simple like forgetting to install the drivers because it would be easy to correct.
